The Aspire Atlantis was one of the most popular sub-ohm clearomizers on the market, and the Atlantis 2 has taken all of the best features which made the original such a hit, and built upon it to make something even better.

Combining the impeccable build quality Aspire products are known for with a number of design tweaks, the Atlantis is a sub-ohm monster, capable of firing out huge clouds of thick vapour with incredible flavour. Coils are available in 1, 0.5 and 0.3 ohms, so the Atlantis is also a versatile clearomizer, capable of satisfying cloud-chasers and mouth-to-lung vapers alike.

Capacity and Build Quality

At £29.99, you’d expect the Aspire Atlantis 2 to have a great build quality and design, and there are no disappointments here. The metal and glass build is sturdy, crack proof and built to last. If you’re looking for a good sub-ohm tank which you can use as an everyday vape, and which will survive being knocked about in your pocket or bag, look no further.

The airflow is easy to adjust, with a large range which will give you everything from hot, tight draws to loose, puffy clouds and everything in between. It comes apart easily and the threading on the moving parts is well made and designed with ease of use and longevity in mind.

It is a good thing the Atlantis 2 is so well designed, as with a 3ml capacity you’ll need to refill it often, especially if using it at 0.3 or 0.5 ohms. Because sub-ohm vaping tends to blast through e liquid so much faster than mouth-to-lung vaping, most sub-ohm clearomizers have 4 to 5ml capacities, which means the relatively paltry 3ml capacity of the Atlantis 2 is a bit of a drawback.

Airflow and Atomizers

The Atlantis comes with a fully adjustable airflow feeding to the atomizer, as well as a vented drip tip, which means that you have a lot of control over the temperature, volume and intensity of your vape when using it. The airflow is huge on the Atlantis 2, one of the biggest we’ve ever used, which helps pump out huge volumes of vapour when used on higher powered settings.

With coils coming in 0.3, 0.5 and 1ohm options, whether you want huge clouds and intensive vapours or a more subdued vape, the Atlantis 2 will do the job.
The atomizers themselves are very well designed, with a large, consistent flow of e liquid reaching the wick at all times, which makes dry hits very rare, even when vaping at high wattages on the 0.3ohm coil. The wick is made from organic cotton, which translates to phenomenal flavour across the resistances.

The atomizer use bottom vertical coils, which are considered to be one of the best kinds of atomizers, as they receive a bigger, more consistent flow of e liquid, which not only reduces dry hits, but allows for bigger vapour production and better flavour.

The Atlantis 2 coils are widely sold and are fairly priced, so replacing them should not be difficult.

Vapour Production and Flavour

We’ll start with the 0.3ohm coil. Aspire recommends that you use this coil at around 70-80W, and we found the sweet spot is 70W. On this setting, the Atlantis 2 pumps out huge clouds which could fog up a room in a couple of draws! With the airflow fully open it should leave cloud chasers more than happy and with the vented drip tip it doesn’t run too hot either.

The flavour is great, but perhaps not quite as intense as the Kanger Subtank. That said, there were no dry hits, even when using the Atlantis at this power for a long period of time.

With the 0.5ohm, we found the best setting to be around 25W. Even with a higher resistance, the Atlantis still produces thick, full clouds and tastes great. There were not dry hits and it was a very consistently good vape.

The consistency of the Atlantis 2, even when used with 100%VG e liquid is a testament to its design and great juice flow. Even when we gave the 0.3ohm coils a blast at 80W for prolonged periods of time, there were no dry hits and every draw was full of flavour.

Pros

  • A marked improvement on the original Atlantis
  • Huge airflow
  • Great juice flow
  • Well designed and sturdy
  • Great vapour production
  • Good flavour

Cons

  • No RDA
  • No replacement glass tank (which we’d expect to get with a £29.99 clearo)
  • Small 3ml capacity
  • Bottom refill, despite small capacity

Verdict

Aspire obviously took vapers’ feedback towards the original Atlantis onboard, as the Atlantis 2 is a much-improved and fantastic sub-ohm clearomizer. The cloud production is insane and it tastes great, time and time again.

Performance aside, it is well built and intelligently designed but the relatively small capacity is a drawback and we wish that Aspire weren’t so tight fisted in regards to the spare tank.

All things considered, a great addition to any vaper’s arsenal and well worth the £29.99 price tag.
